Integrity Music Announces Release of Sophomore Album from Critically-Acclaimed Rock Worship Band Deluge
New Unshakable CD Available April 13
MOBILE, Alabama (January 28, 2010) -- Integrity Music announces the April 13 release of Unshakable, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed self-titled debut from Deluge, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based band composed of Jonathan Stockstill (vocals, piano/keys, acoustic guitar), Andrae Harrison (drums), Corey Bastin (bass), Keith Gassette, (electric guitar), Nathan Munsell (electric guitar), Joe Causey (electric guitar), Adam Lester (electric guitar), and Brent Milligan (electric guitar).
The band’s previous album garnered kudos from fans and critics alike and was named among ChristianityToday.com’s “Favorite Worship Albums of 2008.”
Unshakable is a studio-recorded worship album that paints a lyrical picture of a “tried by fire” faith set to an energetic, alt-rock and sometimes experimental soundscape.
Jonathan Stockstill, band front man and worship pastor at the 10,000+-member Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge, penned all of the songs with help from his band mates and in one instance, his brother Joel. According to Stockstill, the songs are an outpouring of the joy, anger, pain and hope that his family and church experienced over the past two years. This includes the
“We went on a retreat… just the band,” says Stockstill. “A time for us to pray, worship and write together… and songs just flowed out. All of the songs speak of where we’ve been and how we’re pressing through, especially the title track, Unshakable, which has really connected with our church and youth group.”
Two other stand-out songs are “Let’s Worship,” a simple plea which features guest vocalist Kari Jobe, and “Come In My Courts,” which was inspired by Joel Stockstill’s vision of the throne room after the death of his wife, Amy.
Digging into the lyrics, it’s easy to see that Stockstill’s brother, Joel, plays a major inspirational role throughout the album. Despite his illness, Joel’s faith and perseverance has influenced growth of the mega church’s youth group to over 7,000 students. Stockstill confirms, “Joel is the inspiration behind the album.”
Deluge allows their listeners to see their heart through their music. From the rock-out moments, to the soft worship interludes, Unshakable gives a glimpse into the everyday-life struggles of believers who share a selfless passion for Christ.
